Introduction to Mindfulness
What is Mindfulness, and why would I want to learn about it?
In this course, we introduce the skills, tools, and benefits of mindfulness, including the concepts of genuine happiness and self-compassion. Classes help us understand the wisdom of seeing reality clearly, and how this skill can reduce mental and emotional suffering and improve relationships of all kinds. We present open-hearted practices of compassion and loving-kindness, and learn the importance of acceptance, gratitude and perspective; as well as how to understand and manage emotions. Finally, we’ll create a template for our own daily practice of mindfulness. Each session includes a short guided meditation.
Course is offered on Thursdays, 2-3 pm MT
or on a custom day and time by arrangement for groups of two or more participants
